I've been dying to shoot a wedding back at The Old Kent Barn since I had my own wedding there last year. It's a fabulous place, very relaxed and pretty with a great atmosphere. Hilary & Claire who run the venue are so clearly passionate about their business which is still in it's infancy, opening for weddings in 2006, and they've been busy ever since!
Lloyd & Sam were THE first couple to book their wedding way back in 2006. On saturday 7th June, they had a civil wedding in the lovely gazeebo, followed by a meal in the marquee and a DJ into the evening reception. Their first dance was Michael Jackson's 'Wanna be starting something' and they'd choreographed a superb routine!
Sam, as we predicted after their pre-wed shoot, looked stunning and had a great bunch of girls around her. Lloyd and his best man wore very cool matching shirt and ties. We knew we were in for a great day, these two are so into each other as well!
Here's a few photographs from a brilliant day. We broke away from the 'normal' photos I've seen shot at the venue and found some alternative places to shoot really nearby. The outcome is an amazing album full of love, life and happiness. Yes, the album's done, yes we're chuffed to bits with it and no you can't see the preview yet - the couple are away honeymooning in Malaysia and they get first look! Here's a dozen (maybe a few more....!) - but we could easily have posted many, many more!

Undoubtably one of my favourite moments of this year was when emotion overcame Sam's daughter Paige as she read from 'The Velveteen Rabbit'. Mother and daughter finished it together - just one of those lovely moments that some weddings produce.....

The Old Kent Barn has one of the best gazeebo's of any Kent venue.
